They came to choose a heart-shape, pink sapphire whose shape makes it the perfect embodiment of love itself. It is a rare art to cut perfectly proportioned heart-shape gems, which makes such specimens equally treasured. A glittering diamond entourage highlights the extraordinary shape of the pink sapphire and lends the ring additional fire, reminiscent on the fire of love.

The experts at Gübelin Jewellery selected a pink sapphire as a coloured gem. Sapphires belong to the corundum family and have a broad range of colours, extending from blue through yellow, orange, violet all the way to pink.
With its radiant pink, this sapphire’s colour brings to mind love, romance and tenderness. Sapphires were formed millions of years ago as a result of extreme pressures deep within the earth. These specimens are from Madagascar, a major source for sapphires.
Along with the pink sapphire (2.14 ct), the jewel setters also included brilliant-cut diamonds. Diamonds stand for strength, permanence and beauty and lend the ring a further layer of meaning.
