Greenhouse Cafe in Birmingham.

By Teaantoast @teaantoastblog
A few weeks ago my boyfriend and I was wondering around town trying to think of somewhere we could get a bite to eat after hanging out in the shop. We didn’t really fancy anything too big and I really wanted to go somewhere new, we ended up popping into Greenhouse Café in Digbeth.

I fell in love with the place as soon as I walked in, we were greeted with big smiles and the interior is beautiful! We ordered our food and drinks and sat down, there was a few other groups of  people in there but it was still a really calm atmosphere. I ordered a Victorian Lemonade and Homemade tomato soup and Mark ordered a pot of Tea, Soup and Chicken & Bacon with pesto sandwich; All of it absolutely delicious!

I went along again on Tuesday with my friend Ryan to take some photos (well an excuse to play with his camera and drink tea whilst he snaps up LOADS of pictures) This time we both ordered the Chicken & Bacon Sandwich and I had tea. I adored the fact the tea came out as how every pot of tea should in my opinion… With Tea leafs and a timer! OUSHH!!

There was a brief story of how Greenhouse came to life on the tables which was really inspiring to read and after a quick chat with the owner Rosie you can tell there is a lot of passion for this place from everyone involved.

I feel that places like this have become a little lost over the past few years, especially after the big boys such as Starbucks have come along. Places that are genuine, humble, homely, lovely people, great atmospheres, places that care about what you as a customer want more than how much money you're going to spend. With the rise of small independent businesses popping up around Birmingham we could be seeing a lot more places like this! Hopefully anyway!

I definitely have fallen in love with this place and will coming back and forth all the time no doubt. Places like this are what makes our city, it's opened my eyes to a lot of other independent businesses around Birmingham that I feel really needs to be shared with you!

Greenhouse Cafe is located in The Custard Factory in Digbeth. For more information on this beautiful cafe check out their website or even better, pop along for a cuppa and a bite to eat! You'll fall in love too. Trust me.
