Grandma's Buns - Pizza Bun Recipe

By Craftycrunchymama
I couldn't resist calling this post Grandma's Buns - I mean come on, the name was begging to be used.
Anyway, as you can probably guess this is a recipe my grandma taught me. This meal is a tradition in our family. When we would go to my grandmotner's house after church on Saturday, we would stuff ourselves full of all sorts of goodies, so when Saturday night came around we would only want something small while we played board games. These little 'cheese buns' fit the bill. She would usually accompany this with popcorn and fruit salad.
I decided to make these a little healthier, though. I traded white English Muffins for whole wheat and added some veggies on top.

You will need:
Whole Wheat English Muffins
Pasta/Pizza Sauce
Mozzarella cheese
Veggies of your choice
Brown sugar to sweeten sauce (if not already sweetened)
First preheat your oven to 360°
Then sweeten your sauce if needed - Grandma always did!

(You can steam your veggies first if you like - these pizzas don't take long so the veggies might not get cooked well. Daddy J likes it a little crunchy so we don't steam.)

Oops! I forgot to get a photo with the veggies. You get the idea.

Put them in the oven and bake at 360° for ten minutes, or whenever the cheese is golden brown. And voila! Yummy, healthy-ish cheese buns.

Thanks for letting me share my grandmother's recipe with you. Do you have any recipes that were handed down to you? I would love to hear!
