FOX confirmed today that GOTHAM will be airing on Mondays at 8:00pm when it premieres this Fall. They also bumped up the episode order from 13 to 16.
FOX seems content to promote the villains with this quote from the release: “GOTHAM traces the rise of the great DC Comics Super-Villains and vigilantes, revealing an entirely new chapter that has never been told.” However, they then do follow that up with this: “GOTHAM follows one cop, destined for greatness, as he navigates a dangerously corrupt city teetering on the edge of evil, and chronicles the birth of one of the most popular super heroes of all time.”
I’m very interested in how they are going to put all this together without any mention of Batman at all, since he doesn’t exist yet. Focusing on the villains is smart because they are well known, but I hope they give Gordon his due. The character is an important part of the mythology and this is a great chance for him to be more than the “old man” that turns on the Bat Signal.
