Happy New Year, All!

The 2019 International Wine Tourism Conference takes place in Spain's Basque Country and Rioja Alavesa. Parte Viega, San Sebastián - Donostia, ES. ©L.M. Archer.

As the new year begins, I’m delighted – and honored – to announce my selection as one of ten participants from 100 applicants fortunate to attend the 2019 International Wine Tourism Conference in Basque Country and Rioja Alavesa from 11-16 March 2019.

This event provides an opportunity for select members of the wine media to experience enotourism first-hand. We’ll visit Basque Country’s Vitoria-Gasteiz, San Sebastián-Donostia, Txakoli, and Bilbao, as well as Spain’s famed Rioja Alavesa wine region.

We’ll also partake in a Master Class on Basque Country wines by MW Sarah Jane Evans, plus additional ‘enotouristic’ seminars presented by other industry leaders.

Join the fun by following me on Twitter and Instagram @lmarcherml .

And be sure to check back here after the tour for links to any subsequent articles published on enotourism, Basque Country and Rioja Alavesa.

In the meantime, continue to look here for my ongoing coverage of Oregon wine, Burgundy, and bubbles for Meininger’s Wine Business International, Wine Business Monthly, and Oregon Wine Press.

Cheers, and best wishes in 2019!
