I could bumble and stumble around the opening paragraph for this Golden Wedding Medicinal Pint, but I’m going to queue up some info from the LAWS site instead. Though before I do I’ll quickly set the stage and let you know that this was distilled at the Carlisle distillery which has ties to George T. Stagg.
“The Carlisle Distillery (where this was made) and its sister O.F.C. across the road were built and run by the now-legendary E.H. Taylor, and taken over in the early 1890s by arguably more legendary George T. Stagg. “Colonel” Albert Blanton (the namesake of today’s Blanton’s brand) became superintendant in 1912, and owner in 1921, guiding the distillery succesfully through Prohibition and Repeal, all the way through the 1950s.”
Now let’s see how the Golden Wedding Medicinal Pint tastes.

Golden Wedding Medicinal Pint Review
EYE
Caramel
NOSE
Perfumy wood, maple, chalk, mineral water, spice andcitrus peels.
PALATE
Perfumy oak, chalk, maple, mineral water, spice, vanilla and a citrusy weirdness.
FINISH
Medium drop of perfumy citrus, chalk, oak and dark sweets.
BALANCE, BODY & FEEL
Ok balance, light body and a thin – almost watery – feel.
OVERALL
The chalk and perfume-like quality of the Golden Wedding Medicinal Pint is a bit distracting, but they’re overshadowed enough by the more rustic qualities to keep it from becoming completley perfumy or chalky. Like all the other medicinal pints I’ve had it’s been interesting; also like most of them it’s not something that I’d want to drink regularly.
It was fun to take a sip of history and I might try it again at some point, but I’m also perfectly happy with the thought of never pouring a glass of it again. The Golden Wedding Medicinal Pint is weird and funky, but not in a way that keeps my interest or gets me overly excited. Overall an “OK” experience.
