Go Talk to Your Counsellor

By Survivingana @survivingana

Sophie got her dates for her exams, the history one seemed to be OK. The Japanese one sent her into panic attack. Wow like total melt down. ‘What do I do?’ Talk to your counselor. Who only just txted me to see if Sophie was really OK. So I sent her off to email the counselor. That’s what she is there for. Sophie doesn’t listen to me. I tell her to distract herself, to breathe, to break the study into little chunks she can manage, but she turns off. Her counselor can say all of this and more, and she listens. So I hand it over. Tomorrow we also have the psychiatrist – good timing.

I am being followed again, eyes big. Not actually being able to articulate what is exactly on her mind, but just hanging close. I am finding it tough being followed again, and finding it tough to be sensitive enough. She is finding it tough cause she feels she shouldn’t follow me but can’t help it.

Food isn’t the focus for the anxiety this time. She is back to just yoghurt for some lunches but nothing serious. She seems to be focusing on keeping me closer, being really irritable and bitchy and is moving her bedroom furniture around. There are only so many ways it all fits in her new bedroom and we have now done them all.

One exam next week, one exam following week, then Japan at end of week. Anxiety build up til then.
