I was walking down the aisles of the Croma Store of New Delhi. I had come here to buy a new PC/ laptop. It had been since long that I had bought a new device and now I was confused on what to buy. I had been an HP user since time immemorial and recently I had gone against my rules and got an Asus tablet. It struck me on the head like a meteor had gone through my head.
It was spectacular. Portable, easy and powerful. HP was nothing in front of it. That’s why I had come here to buy a new PC/laptop ofASUS. I was roaming through the aisles looking for a decent device. I saw many, so I called the manager of Croma to help me find the perfect device for me.
They displayed a lot of devices for me- all HP and Dell. I felt as if they had some pact with those two companies. In the end, I had to force them to show me devices from ASUS instead of all other companies- because ASUS was my love as of now.
They grumbled a bit but then acted upon my wishes. They said that they had only 2 devices from Asus as of now and those were along the middle range. I went along with them, after all, I didn’t have a budget for such high end devices.
First they decided to show me the Asus EeeBook X205TA. It was a cute laptop with such good looks that I was fallen. I went over the specs. Intel Atom processor- okay, I could live with it. Then my eyes fell on the storage factor. It was a 32 Gig SSD. The storage was less but it was a SSD. That was one thing which I was squeamish with. I liked at least 250 Gig of storage as I loved to watch movies. 32 gig – I would have to live with an external HDD, I could do it as the cost was cheap. Way below my budget and the looks were spectacular. It even weighed less the 1 kg! It was lighter or around Macbook Air!
I didn’t show much interest to the Croma staff: because in India the more you complain, the more discount you get. I asked them to show me the next device- while I was still complaining for the 32 gig storage of the previous laptop.
Now they went and displayed the Asus ET2040IUK-BB015W to me. I was floored. The 500 gig HDD, 19.5 inch screen, 2gig of ram. What could I ask for? I frowned at the device as I wanted to get a discount. It was not a laptop- but it had gesture controls and it was an all in one.
At that moment I felt that Asus had defeated Apple and become the best company for such devices. I went to the counter and bought the Asus all in one pc.
I went out smiling. Today I was going to watch a ton of movies on my new device!
