Gloss Vs. Lipstick

By Thelawsoffashion

Many people believe that the finishing touch to a look is lipstick.  This especially seems to be the case if you happen to have been born before 1980.  I am going to give you some rough news here: lipstick is basically useless.

Lipstick ages everyone.  If you are 12 you shouldn’t even be wearing makeup, but if you do, you look like a creepy doll.  Whatever age you are, slap on some lipstick and its almost guaranteed people will think you look 5-10 years older than you really are.  Don’t be mad, you are beautiful at any age, you just need to work with what you have to the fullest extent.  This is where the fabulous invention of lipgloss comes in.  Lipgloss does the following things:

  • Makes all lips looks plumper and fuller;
  • Uses shine to reflect light in a way that makes your lips look more voluptuous and moisturized;
  • Doesn’t creep up or bleed into any fine lines or wrinkles you might have; and
  • Doesn’t stick to your teeth and create embarrassing situations

Make the switch, you will be happy you did.   In some cases, if you want a bold look, you should wear lipstick.  But you have to wear it right.  Use a clear liner and be sure to top with clear gloss. The liner will ensure that no bleeding occurs, keeping your lips looking perfect.  The sheer gloss reflects light and makes your lips look larger, something you always want whether you are wearing lipstick or not.
