If you like getting together with friends and family for movie night, you probably watch a lot of different types of movies. Well, I’m here to say that movies like Saving Mr. Banks and others like it need to stop being produced as quickly as possible! While some people may like this type of movie, I’m going to give you several specific reasons on why it’s actually one of the worst types of movies in all of existence. I’d rather watch made for television specials that another movie based on something like Saving Mr. Banks!
Why Saving Mr. Banks Movies Suck
Here’s a closer look at some specific reasons that movies like Saving Mr. Banks need to stop being made as soon as possible.
- NOT Reality – The biggest problem I have with movies like Saving Mr. Banks is that they’re NOT based on reality. While they may say they’re based in reality, the sad fact is that the directors and producers usually take a lot of liberties and mess up the reality of the stories they’re trying to tell.
- Bad Fiction – While fictional tales are needed, for sure, it’s when movies try to say they’re “based on a true story” or make you believe that they’re steeped in facts when they’re really not, it’s a bad thing. Reality is stranger than fiction sometimes, but you should never try to mix the two into a single movie!
- Documentaries – Another reason that Saving Mr. Banks is so bad for humanity is that it gives true documentaries a bad name. If people happen to see Saving Mr. Banks or something like it, they may think that there are no good documentaries at all on the planet, something that couldn’t be further from the truth.
- Realism – Having realistic fiction isn’t the point some would argue, but in the case of a movie like Saving Mr. Banks, doing a poor job of depicting reality is a lot more harmful than not making the movie at all. This is why no more movies in the style of Saving Mr. Banks should be made.
While the fate of humanity doesn’t depend on whether or not more movies like Saving Mr. Banks are made, there’s a lot of evidence pointing to the fact that they should stop making these types of movies before the problem gets even worse!
