Girls Night In.

By Emily @thatemilygirll

Every have a slumber party when you were younger with all of your closes girl friends?

You probably watched movies, gossiped, ate pizza, popcorn, ice cream and a bunch of candy, stayed up all night laughing and listening to music. Maybe had a pillow fight. And of course painted your nails, got a make over, or did a facial mask!

Doing all of those things are so much fun and it’s the best part about being a girl! Even though you grew up and no longer called them “sleepovers” “slumber parties,” I bet you still do most of all the things listed above!?

I know I sure do!

I sometimes do facials on a regular bases now because it really cleans my pores out and makes my face feel smooth! The other night I really wanted to do one, but didn’t feel like running to Wal-Mart to pick up a mask plus I didn’t have money (Grown up problem). So I looked on line to find how to make a homemade facial mask.

I don’t know if you have heard of this but might have seen it in a movie. Tissue face mask, where it’s a facial but there’s tissue on your face that you can peel off. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, go look it up! They are really cool.

But I found a recipe to make a homemade tissue facial mask!! Score! So I got all the ingredients needed to make the mask (I will list them below) and I made the mask!! While I was letting the mask dry, I watched Two Broke Girls and Hart of Dixie!

I was really really pleased with the results after I took the mask off, of course, I had my doubts and didn’t think it was going to work. But my face felt so smooth afterwards! It also felt really clean and it helped wash away some of my pores!

Even though I had to put an egg white on my face-so gross because I hate hate hate eggs aha- and my mom making fun of me because I looked like a mummy lol- I really was happy with it and I am definitely going to be doing this face mask again! It’s so much less expensive and no harsh chemicals went into it AND it actually works!!!!

Okay, Okay enough blabbing. Here are the ingredients and pictures of what it/I looked like!

All you need is:

  • 1 egg

  • a teaspoon of olive oil

  •  1 tissue. I am talking about Kleenex; for your nose (do not use tissue paper for gift wrapping.)

Step by Step

Instructions

1.)Crack open the egg, into a bowl but only use the egg whites.
2. Add olive oil and mix together.
3. Apply mixture to face. Make sure not to put it too close to your eyes.
4. Grab the tissue and put over the wet layer you just added to your face. You can either tear the tissue in strips or make holes for your eyes, nostrils and mouth. I prefer strips because I can cover my face more easily.
5. After the tissue is all over your face, apply another layer of the mixture on top. Once soaked, you’re done.
6. I recommend letting it dry all the way until you peel it off (About 25-30 minutes). Then peel away and rinse.

Silly/Embarrassing photos of the mask!

Since my mom said I look like a mummy. I decided to take scary halloween mummy pictures. Enjoy the mummified pictures of me and hope you like my decorations/editing!
