There have been many thrilling moments since Girl on the River first took to the airwaves (or, ahem, whatever it is that makes the interweb work…) just over a year ago, and it’s hard to pick my favorite. There was the invitation to row with a selection of Leander’s finest oarsmen. There was the excitement of the President of the Oxford University Boat Club replying to a post about Cheney School to offer his services as a coach for the afternoon (not to mention the fantastic day watching it all happen). Then there was the Twitter banter with Matthew Pinsent himself (faint). And many, many laughs with my wonderful readers over things like What Not to Wear on the river and Twitter stereotypes.
With over 300 entries this year, I wasn’t expecting to make it to the shortlist and was staggered to find myself shortlisted in three categories. More humbling still, I’m in the company of some superb blogs, and am thrilled to have got a rowing blog into the sports category (how often does that happen?)
