Have you got a rash after shaving your legs? Or does your face burn every time you attempt to shave? Most likely you are suffering from a razor burn.Razor burns occur when you shave an area that is too dry or maybe you’re using a blunt shaving blade.But not to worry! You can get rid of these mild skin irritation or rashes that cause burning sensation with the help of simple home remedies.

  • Honey-Honey is said to have antibacterial properties and its application will make your skin feel soft and supple like a new born baby’s bottom. Apply honey directly onto the affected area and wash off after a couple of minutes.
  • Aloe Vera-With its natural cooling properties, Aloe Vera will reduce the burning sensation and give you instant relief. You can mix aloe vera with any other cooling ingredients such as yogurt or papaya paste and apply to the inflamed area. Wash off after dry.
  • Cucumber-Directly apply paste of cucumber on the skin and wash off after a couple of minutes. Cucumber is cooling for the body and will thus reduce the burning sensation and itching.
  • Cold compress-This is the easiest method to deal with a razor burn. Ice water and the application of ice cubes is said to provide instant relief to inflamed skin and the burning sensation. You can even try freezing cucumber paste in ice cube trays and applying to the skin.
  • Apple Cider Vinegar-The anti-inflammatory properties of apple cider vinegar will soothe the pain caused by the inflammation and help in quick healing of the area.
  • Coconut oil-Famous among Asians for its healing properties, coconut oil can help soothe the burn and speedup the healing process.
  • Asprin-Asprin, the miracle drug has various other fixes apart from the medical ones. One of the miracles of it being used as a drug is to reduce razor inflammation by applying a paste of asprin and water to the affected area.
  • Witch Hazel-Witch hazel is a cure for all kinds of skin inflammations. It has various antiseptic and antibacterial and astringent properties.
  • Black tea-Black tea is rich in tannin acid, that helps reduce or soothe the rash caused by a shave. As crazy as it may sound, cheaper tea is more effective as it contains higher levels of tannic acid. Soak tea bags in warm water and apply as a compress to the affected areas.
  • Tree tea oil-Tree tea oil can really help reduce inflammation. So massage some on to the affected area and see your burns just vanish into thin air.
