If you have ever wondered if there was a LGBT version of Groupon – well, then we have something for you! Introducing: Gaypon a site that specifically provides discounted services from businesses that support the LGBTcommunity.
Gotta love it.
When it comes to Gaypon participation, you don’t have to necessarily be LGBT to become a member, as long as you are accepting of diverse lifestyles and orientations. At the same time, Gaypon CEO, Robert Graham wants the site to be more about providing excellent goods, gadgets, fashion nightlife and entertainment options to anyone who wants to subscribe.
“Our online community is a place where individuals who believe in equal and fair employment practices can find great deals and support businesses that share the same philosophy,” Graham states.
Although, the business doesn’t have to be gay-owned, the business has to support a diverse work environment and client base. In order to make sure that is the case, Gaypon provides a background check on every business applying to be included on the site. They also use the HRC’s “Corporate Equality Index” as guide in their decision.
What are the benefits of becoming a Gaypon subscriber? Well, it’s free for one and like similar discount programs, you will receive an email with a deal of the day, which you can choose to purchase or not. One of the main differences is that you are guaranteed a service from someone who supports the gay community. However, that is not the only reason to support the site, Gaypon also believes in giving back, by donating a portion of their proceeds to local and national LGBT organizations and charities.
