There’s nothing more satisfying than removing a full face of makeup and cleansing after a long day. Or night! Cleansing just got a whole lot easier with the arrival of the new Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water which you can expect to see at a supermarket near you! This is quite major because for the longest time, micellar waters have only been carried by the big luxury skincare brands or were once upon a time quite hard to come by. Being a French pharmacy skincare staple, this used to be a product you would have to search high and low for or buy from an overseas stockist. I’m so happy to say those days are over!So what exactly is Micellar water I hear you ask? In short, you can think of it as a quick and easy to use alternative to makeup remover. The Garnier Micellar Water doesn’t stop at just taking off your makeup. The water like consistency is formulated to contain no perfume, making it suitable to use as a cleanser no matter what your skin type. It contains an active ingredient known as Micelles (hence the name!) and this draws out sebum from the skin. You can tell I really put this to the test, pulling out all my notoriously hard to remove makeup from cream shadows to thick concealer and full coverage foundation. For eye makeup removal: Soak two cotton pads and rest onto the eyes before gently rubbing to fully remove makeup. There’s no need to tug or rub vigorously! Sensitive skin types will find that this is super gentle to use. A big bonus is how this comes in handy for tidying up your makeup on the go. Made a mistake with liquid liner? Just soak the end of a cotton bud to tidy up that wing or to fully remove every trace of that smokey eye from the night before. It also gets an A+ in removing even the most long wearing of lipsticks.
This 400ml bottle claims to stretch out for over 200 uses but in real terms or the rate I’m going, this could last two to three months when used solely as a makeup remover and shorter if used as an overall cleanser. I highly recommend the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water if you’re looking for an easy to use product that cleanses and removes make-up in one step. It’s also a great option for busy women and teens who want a simplified inexpensive cleansing routine.
