Garden Makeover for Summer!
There's nothing I love more than a gorgeous summers day, with bright blue sky, surrounded by friends and a delicious BBQ on the go! Now the weather is warming up, I've been looking at our garden and it really needs a bit of tlc, the cold months have taken it's toll on our decking especially! Weeds have started taking over the pebbles and spider webs are taking over the table and chairs..it's time to get it sorted and looking presentable again!
Here are some ways to get your garden looking spick and span again!  The Clear Out First things first, before you buy loads of toys, have a good ol tidy up! De weed everything (there are child and animal friendly ones out there), if you have decking give it a good brush off and clean, you can either use a jet blaster or if it's a more delicate kind of wood you can get special treatments which you leave on overnight which work amazingly! You can even give the fences a lick of paint too to improve the overall look and feel of your garden! Throw away all the rubbish and dead plants too, create a blank canvas and have a rearrange of the current furniture you already have!
Outdoor toys! Obviously based on your little ones age! But there are some fab family games out there which are affordable and fun, we have just got Abbie a paddling pool from for about a fiver, a skittles set and some other bat and ball games too! There are other games such as naughts and crosses, checkers and croquet too if you have older children, perfect for the spring and summer months and keeping them occupied whilst keeping them in view! TheToyShop are one of my favorite shops online, they literally have everything you need to keep the little ones occupied!
Sandpits! I think we've all had one as a child, those sea she shapes ones? Yep I had that, it was one of my favorite toys actually, just to sit in it, make sandcastles, or even as a lunchtime snack if you're anything like Abbie...the new texture of sand and being able bury your little feet is fascinating of little ones, this is a great one if you have older children and younger siblings for them, they'll have fun burying eachother and no one can get hurt, brilliant! :).

Lighting!  You can literally transform your garden with some clever lighting! Lanterns, fairy lights and candles etc, you can choose to decorate around the fencing..the rockery or just the table set! Do a little research online first, you don't want to end up with santas grotto in your garden! Subtle lighting is usually best, less is definitely more! Lampcommerce have such a huge array of different options to suit every garden and style, with wall lights, floor lamps and even fancy ceiling lights if you're lucky enough to have  a marquee out there too!
Adult space  Those summer evenings even the little ones are in bed! Invite a few friends over and chill in the garden! Invest in some furniture, tables and a BBQ and you're pretty much set! There are always deals on so you don't need to worry about spending loads of money either! I recommend getting furniture covers too! You want it to last for years and years so ensure it's protected from the rain and rust!Outdoor lights really set the mood too, just a few scattered around, with a mixture of candles, ahhh just picture it now..a delicious BBQ on the go, good company, maybe some music on too and just completely relaxing! We don't get those moments enough as parents so treated every second! :)
Plants Get to your local garden center and buy some colourful flowers, geraniums are beautiful, or just look at what you fancy, remember less is sometimes more..yes the Chelsea Flower Show looks beautiful but your garden isn't anywhere near that big! As i said in a previous post, this is also a fab time to get the kids involved, they'll enjoy getting their hands dirty and helping you out!
