Fully Alive Concert

Posted on the 07 September 2012 by Mod31

Last Friday I went to a fun Catholic rap concert, called Fully Alive (although I had to leave early to leave for the campsite…). I got to see a couple of my friends perform alongside other talented musicians, all praising the Lord. It was wonderful! Enjoy the clips.

First up is my good friend Sean, or Case Study if you want to call him by is rapper name. Check out his website and follow him on Facebook!

There was no video of his performance, so I’ll leave you with a sample of one of his recordings. You’re welcome.

Here’s the man himself.

Next up are Elijah and Elisha, two Iraqi Catholic rappers who are also apparently retreat and worship leaders. Their sound is a combination of mainstream beats and underground style, with a message centered on Christ.

Here’s a video of their performance! You can also get more info on their website and follow them on Facebook.

The following performance is from a pretty popular fella in the Catholic youth and young adult circles, Mr. Paul J. Kim. He’s a dynamic speaker as well as a talented artist. His signature style is “making noises with his face” as he likes to say. Paul has some ridiculous beatboxing skills.

I wish there were a video of just him beatboxing that night. Instead, I’ve included a video of my favorite songs via his Youtube page:

He’s working on a new album that sounds promising. Follow on Facebook to stay updated! And support him on the album release here.

So now we get to the performances I missed because I had to leave early! I got to hear one song performed by the Christian artist  Heath McNease. He has a cool style of rapping with an acoustic guitar.  Here he is performing “Chopsylvania” and freestyling. How can a person rap so fast?? You can check out more of his music on Youtube.

And what bummed me out most was that I missed the performance by Manchild!! He’s a Catholic hip hop artist who has 3 nationally released albums, selling over 40,000 units worldwide, and performing more than 700 concerts in the United States, Canada and Europe. Ya know, no big. Here’s a video of him, Heath McNease, and another guy who goes by the name Playdough freestylin “Whose Rhyme Is It Anyway?” together. FUN.

Anyway, I hope you take the time to check out these talented artists and their music.

Have a wonderful weekend!
