The inspiration for this makeup comes from a full moon night. Imagine the moon light falling on a lotus leaf in a pond. The frogs croaking a melody whilst the moon light dancing on a tune on the rippling waters. We see his (moon's) reflection on a lotus leaf that has few water droplets playing on the surface. What a beautiful site! But this is just a moment and if missed, it may not come back. Have you seen it??
So lets see how to get this look....it could be a great festive look for the season.....
Conceal under the eyes and set it with translucent powder. Please note that I do not air brush my pictures and keep them look just the way the camera captures it. Its about embracing your own skin and your own flaws. I have used Clinique All About Eyes concealer in 05 Medium Beige.
Prime the lids. This makes the eyeshadows stay really longer. I have used Too Faced Shadow Insurance eyeshadow primer on my lid.
Trace the upper and lower lash lines and water lines with Urban Decay Khol and Contour pencil in Ultra Black. It can be applied haphazardly as it would be blended soon.
Blend into haziness with a pencil brush. I love to see the smokey effect coming into life.
Apply the eye pencil in the outer corners and inner corners and blend them quickly.
Darken and fix the eyeshadow pencil with Urban Decay eyeshadow in Blackout.
Define the crease and apply this amazing bronze-khaki color from the Guerlain Bronze Dore palette.
Apply the ivory white shimmer from YSL Pure Chromatics eyeshadow palette no.04 in the inner corners and on the brow bone. Now smoke on Urban Decay eyeshadow in Loaded on the lower lid to create a midnight emerald haze.
Apply Loaded as a was on the upper lid with a fluffy eyeshadow brush. I used my favorite BH cosmetics Blender brush.
With a damp brush, apply spring green eyeshadow from the YSL Pure Chromatics eyeshadow no.04 on the center of the lid to create a dramatic shine.
Smoke and blend out everything with a fluffy crease brush like Jane Iredale crease brush.
On the exact center point of the lid, apply the same ivory white shimmer as big dot. This dot is the refection of the moon directly while other is the light that has diffused from the water droplet on the lotus leaf.
Trace the inner rims with the same eye pencil to add more darkness around the perimeter of the eye.
Curl lashes and apply lashings of YSL Faux Cils mascara. This is the perfect mascara for the occasion.
I have used a Christian Dior Flawless Perfection Fusion Wear foundation in 030. To complete the look, I prefer a soft plum stain on the lips (very Pat McGrath like) using Guerlain Rouge G lipstick in Gigolo and Gala and create a soft plummy glow on the cheeks using the Clinique Fresh Bloom All Over Face Color in Plum Poppy.
I hope you liked this makeup tutorial. Its quite amazing for the festive season..Do let me know in the comments.
Till then,
Ciao
