The frozen memories are reminiscences, notes and inspirations without space and time. They belong to each of us and live in our daily lives. A flower, a coral, a dress that remind us of our past projecting far and beyond.
Shells, hydrangeas and hazelnut trees in my childhood. Corals, cherry blossoms, stylized foliage in Tony Ward’s one and in his Fall – Winter 2013 \ ’14 collection. He leads us on a nostalgic journey, melancholy at times, where luxury is a concept inspired by the past, but contaminated with contemporary elements. Brocade, lace and printed gauze are interspersed with laser-perforated leather dresses. The white and blue refer to the retro flavor of china back, white and coral inspiring cruises in distant places, white and the black white and black that does not claim to be minimal, but they stand for disarming elegance.
And the contrasts are the ones who attract Tony Word on the catwalk as in life. The dresses in black leather, a bit cat woman style, are transformed in romantic and softened by roses.
Tailoring and technology, because tradition is the basis of all innovation. Mr. Ward thanks for reminding us we can better succeed at our future looking at our past..
