Chopard’s newest line is a re-imagining of the IMPERIALE ladies collection introduced in the 1990s. The new IMPERIALE line continues Chopard’s tradition of timepieces with subtle yet elegant stylings. Chopard describes the new collection best, “IMPERIALE radiates an aura of timeless chic embodying a subtle alliance between simplicity and majesty, sophistication and sensuality.”
Measuring 36 mm to 40 mm in diameter these watches are on the larger size and make a bold statement without a flashy look. Chopard, like many other luxury watch brands, is rushing to introduce ladies watches with large cases which has become quite the trend in the last couple of years. Customers are offered a choice between diamond-set or polished bezel, in stainless steel, 18kt rose or white gold. The IMPERIALE is meant to honor the kings and queens of the past and incorporates common symbols that typify the “imperial” age. The mother-of-pearl dial base is reminiscent of embroidered cushions on which monarchs used to place their insignia. The hour and minute hands are in the form of tapered daggers and the dial features Roman numerals, both of these features are common themes found during that age.
