Our friend Jonathan throws the best parties. Whether it’s a karaoke night in Korea-town or a first class dinner, it’s always a good time.
Especially when there’s food around. Jonathan went to culinary school, and the boy doesn’t mess around.
He hosted a “Thanksgiving… but early” party for his friends a few days ago.
Have you ever been to one of these? Also known as “Friendsgiving,” it’s a nice way to get all of your friends together before the holiday madness starts. For those of you who asked, the dress I’m wearing in the photo below is from Free People!
B and I arrived a little early, and helped get some of the food on the table. Have you ever seen one of these mashed potato presses? You put peeled, cooked potatoes into the basket and press a lever down, and voila! Potato shreds that look just like cheese, and easily mashable.
There was quite a spread, including two kinds of stuffing (cornbread-sausage and a delectable vegan version with mushrooms), ba-corn, roasted brussels sprouts with butternut squash and caramelized pecans, sweet potatoes, macaroni and cheese, green been casserole, roast turkey….
We all had a great time, and ate very well.
Do you do any kind of “Friendsgiving” or holiday get-together with your friends before the holidays hit?
