I am not a fan of lotions or body creams that seem a lot yummier than my favorite piece of cake. I am not into any cream that is heavily scented which some people find it weird. As I have mentioned many times in this blog, I have very sensitive facial skin and pampering it with scents is a torture. Luckily, only my face needs to be taken care of because I can tolerate other scented body products without causing me any trouble. However, I still don’t used scented or perfumed body creams because my sense of smell is being too unfriendly leaving me with headache and sometimes makes me a sneezy freak which kinda awkward if I had a smell of heavily perfumed creams around. So, just to distant myself from possible discomfort, I stay away from yummy and heavenly scented body products. I just want to make it clear, I do appreciate perfumes and scents but not the ones infused in creams or lotions.
Finding The Right Product
Because of this sorry tale, I always ends up using unscented body creams like Glysolid, QV Cream, Lipobase and Cetaphil and the likes which are very good products by the way. But the thing is, most of these cream are too heavy for summer which made them unsuitable for the season. Summer makes the skin dry and scaly sometimes which might lead to rashes and skin problems hence the need of a good nourishing body creams and lotion. The messy feel of some of these creams doesn’t make it the wisest buy for the scorching heat here in the Middle East so I thought of trying out other products.
As I was combing the shelf looking for a prospect cream, my eyes were caught by Dove go fresh nourishment body cream. I’m not aware since when it was displayed there as I don’t always passed by that corner but one thing I’m aware of is, that afternoon, I went home with a jar of Dove go fresh nourishment body cream waiting to be tried on.
So how was my experience with Dove go fresh nourishment body cream?
Dove go fresh nourishment body cream is meant for normal skin and since I am one so this body cream should works well on me. It does yes. It is scented, yes. But unlike other perfumed body creams and lotions, the scent is so relaxing and smells so fresh. It is not however written on the label as to its composition but I assumed it has cucumber extracts infused on it that gives a very cool feel. If you are a fan of cucumber, you will definitely like this product. It is so light yet creamy and spreadable. It won’t take minute to be absorbed by your skin. I definitely liked the smell. It isn’t yummy but it isn’t dull either.
My Verdict?
Packaging/Presentation
⭐⭐⭐⭐
I would have given it a five-star if not for the jar presentation. I would appreciate it more if it presented in tube which is so much hygienic.
Smell
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
It’s definitely a double thumbs-up! The cucumber cooling effect hooked me.
Price
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
It is sold here in Riyadh, KSA at SR 13 (USD 3.5) which is a good buy. Its 300 ml content will cross you for a month or maybe more depending on how frequent you apply.
Effect
⭐⭐⭐
As to its moisturizing effect, it is less compared to all the products I have used before and since it has lighter consistency, this won’t be the best product for winter where dryness will be extreme. This however serves those who are always on the go as it absorbs quickly in no time without you feeling messy.
Will I repurchase it?
Yes. I’m on my second jar now. But in winter, maybe not. I would still prefer the glycerin-rich heavy moisturizer but meanwhile I’ll enjoy summer minus the messy feeling. One thing I realized, I love cucumber and honeydew scents when it is infused in body creams or wash. It just feel so refreshing like you just came out from the shower all the time.
