Following up last year’s album, Interstellar, Frankie Rose will release Herein Wild on September 24 via Fat Possum. Her first single, “Sorrow” starts out with a wishy-washy acoustic guitar intro before being put in its place by huge 80s-longing drums. Frankie Rose’s typical saccharine yearning is quick to follow as she sings “don’t ask me why… there is sorrow”. It is all much the same we’d expect from a (previously signed) slumberland artist.. that is until after the bridge. ”Sorrow” takes a cinematic turn, adding in lush strings over Rose’s plaintiff singing.
