We may be well into January, but UK-based DJ/producer Kieran Hebden, better known as Four Tet, is keeping the holiday spirit alive by giving out the gift of music to fans. He announced the album release on Monday via his Twitter, leaving short notice before dropping the album, titled 0181, Tuesday morning. The story behind the album is that it packages entirely unreleased material recorded between the years 1997 and 2001. Sonically, its clear that this album comes from a previous time as the sound is reminiscent to Fout Tet’s Pause era. The album contains jazzy break beats, some ambient electronics, and a more experimental vibe – similar to the work of Nujabes, Shigeto, and Gorillaz.
