At least four rangers personnel were martyred and severed others injured in a bomb explosion in Korangi No. 5 area of Karachi on Wednesday.
Acceding to sources, the bomb exploded near a Rangers’ vehicle near the Bhittai Rangers Headquarters located in Korangi No. 5 area.
The intensity of the blast was as much that it was heard miles away. Rangers’ truck was completely destroyed in the blast. Several other vehicles parked near the Rangers Headquarters were also damaged.
Following the blast, intense gunfire between rangers and attackers was also reported.
The rescuers rushed the injured to the Abbasi Shaheed Hositpal, where two rangers personnel are said to be in critical condition.
Meanwhile, the banned outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed responsibility of the attack
