With Easter peeking around the corner, spring is finally in full bloom. Every fashionable lady craves a little makeover as the sun comes out and the weather warms up. New jewelry is just the fresh touch that a wardrobe needs to shoo away the last chilly hints of winter. This year, forget the chocolate bunnies and colorful candies and fill her Easter basket with the sweetest spring jewelry trends.
Light & Bright
These little treasures are some of my favorite light spring earrings, and only $350!
Winter was all about chunky sweaters, tall boots and knit scarves in jewel tones and dark hues. It only made sense that jewelry trends stayed on the same statement scale. Now that the skies are clear, it’s time to chunk all that extra weight. This year’s spring jewelry is all petite pieces that are light and easy to wear. Look for long, thin chains, slim stackable rings and dainty earrings. These understated accessories are perfect for pairing with lightweight fabrics and spring’s hottest floral, polka dot and chevron patterns.
While you are tucking away oversized jewelry for the season, opt for lighter shades as well. Winter accessories looked luxe in gold, marsala and deep blue, this season the go-to look this season is bright shades of gleaming white metals.
Crisp stones
More Ippolita – I love the organic shapes and crisp blues and greens on this bracelet!
Keeping with the theme of lighter and brighter, look for spring pieces featuring crisply colored stones. Peridot ranges in shades from lime green to apple green and echoes the natural tones of the season. Citrine, which ranges from lemon to muted gold, reflects the sunshine we have all be longing for. Royal watchers will recognize the yellow stone as a favorite of Duchess Kate, who frequently dons citrine drop earrings. Both peridot and citrine pair perfectly with the pastel shades and light neutrals that many of us gravitate towards this time of year. Consider a ring or pair of earrings featuring the spring-hued stones. Though they may originally seem too colorful to work with many items in your wardrobe, you may soon find that they are neutral enough to work with a surprising amount of looks. Just be careful not to overdo it. Too many pastel shades can have you looking like an Easter egg and, although that’s a thematic look, it’s what most of us are going for.
Floral designs and spring motifs
14k Yellow Gold Multicolored Gemstone Chain Necklace
Warm weather and sunny days means it’s time to pull out the floral looks. Flowery skirts and scarves are must-haves, but so are blooming jewelry pieces. Acrylic and beaded necklaces with multi-hues flowers are the season’s go-to statement pieces. For a more upscale and understated look, choose dainty earrings of floral studs.
Flowers aren’t the only must-have seasonal motif. Other nature-inspired themes, such as insects, add a playful look to spring outfits. Birds and bees are both making a splash in fashion this season. As a charm or earrings, they add a springy touch that isn’t overly thematic.
Perhaps the most fun way to wear floral or wildlife motifs is in a playful broach. Broaches are often overlooked accessories that are also extremely versatile. Using one to secure a lightweight broach is not only fashionable, it’s also the perfect way to keep out the last bits of chilly air. Or, secure a springy broach into a loose updo. Adorned hair is a sophisticated yet youthful look that’s perfect for backyard egg hunts, Easter church services and springtime gatherings.
