The Blacklist Love that Spader felt the need to go hat shopping before his next big mission. This time it was to find some guy named Woo Jing. Not sure exactly why, but Spader found him pretty simply. Lizzie had to pretend to be a cryptologist which she seemed to do pretty well for someone who was a bit nervous about her lack of experience. I'm confused, how come Spader's allowed to roam free now? Sure he has a chip in his neck, but if he can find this Woo Jing guy 10 stories underground in 5 minutes, couldn't he get the chip out and disappear too? Or couldn't he just rip it out himself? Prior to meeting Spader for their big Woo Jing hunt, Lizzie shot her husbands gun to check on the bullets. Did you know that if you shoot a gun through phone books and into water it barely makes a sound or a splash? Me either. The report came back classified which was a bit intriguing. While Elizabeth and her husband were out, someone put camera's and microphones in their apartment. Some apple eating dude. That was interesting. So was the code Spader got from his "friend". No idea what 042983 means yet, I'm sure we'll find out soon enough. I'm still convinced that Spader's Elizabeth's Dad...what'd ya think?
How I Met Your Mother Okay...back on track with last nights episode of How I Met Your Mother. It was 2 days before the wedding and if you recall, Barney called Ted out for holding hands with Robin at the carousel and claimed that this was a complete violation of the BroCode. Barney went back in history to Brosis and Brolumbus but needed Marshall 2.0 to get to the facts. Since Marshall was traveling to the wedding in a Hummer, we could only see him via Skype, Viber or Facetime on an IPad. ( I wasn't sure what app they were using.) Pretty funny actually. Linus was still feeding Lily drinks, but they must be pretty watered down, since she doesn't seem to be getting wasted at all. Lily called out Robin for not having any female friends to invite to her bachelorette party and challenged her to make one but then got jealous when she did. Barney booted Ted as best man and gave the gig to Billy Zabka from The Karate Kid. That assignment only lasted til the end of the episode, after Ted promised to move on and get over Robin. In addition to Billy Zabka, Marshall 2.0 and Ted at the poker game, Ranjit and Tim Gunn were also in attendance. Couple of observations...NPH's bod was looking good at the end of the episode on the lounge chair, Barney's suit was purple on my TV do I need to get Joe the AV guy here for an adjustment?
The Voice Started out with a really cute, pretty talented guy named Matt. Adam, Blake and CeeLo turned around but Xtina didn't. When they did, they realized that the kid had been there before. This time he's in! Looked like CeeLo had his head refreshed with a brand new Sharpie, plus he had the Michael Jackson BAD jacket goin on. We tuned out after that to watch the Jet game. At that time I realized that Hart of Dixie was pre-empted for my Jets, so I'll have to catch the premiere online later during the week.
You Gotta See This ALERT!
The People's Couch Sunday night, Bravo aired a new show called The People's Couch and honestly...you need to watch it. The whole show is real people and families watching TV. They're all awesome, the shows they watched were awesome, and beside the fact that it's laugh out loud hilarious, by the end of the episode you want to know more about the people on the couches. What's cool is that they watched this past weeks episodes of shows we all watch like the Real Housewives of NJ Reunion, Long Island Medium, Dancing with the Stars, Scandal and Miley the Movement on MTV. There were all different types of people watching. Traditional families, multigenerational families, straight, gay, African American, White, you had a great mix and what we learned was that the experience is pretty much the same across the board. The only difference is that some families and friends were funnier than others. The shows only 30 minutes. Check it out!
Homeland
Isn't Homeland supposed to be about terrorists? Don't the writers know that we all make fun of Dana and her faces? Over 50% of Sunday nights episode was all about crazy or not crazy Dana. If we're going to talk crazy, we have Carrie. We don't need another crazy girl in a mental ward. We have that already, and the one we have is great at it. I mean did you see when Saul went to visit her at the end of the episode and she couldn't get the words out? That chin twitch? How did she do that? Enough crazy...bring back Brody! Peter's turning out to be a decent guy and now we also have Farrah, the new chick who's following the money and telling off the bankers. I would say for her first day it was 50/50. Next week, Brody and Dana better be bowing down on that dusty carpet together or I'm going to get angry.
Betrayal
Did anyone other than "He Who Shall Not Be Named" watch the show Boss? If you did, you'd recognize Sara, the beautiful lead actress from that show. She was Kelsey Grammar's drug addicted daughter who was sort of a nun if I remember correctly. Anyway, I didn't even want to watch this show and of course I got sucked in. Now it's on the verge of getting cancelled and I'm into it. Mainly because Sara is gorgeous and the guy she's cheating with, Charlize Theron's ex Stuart Townsend is pretty cute. The premise is that both are married and are having an affair but Stuart, aka Tom, is the lawyer going head to head with Sara's husband in a big murder trial.
News & Information:
-90210 alert! Tori Spelling and Jennie Garth are reuniting as 2 retired 90's TV stars who open their own detective agency. Hoping their names are Kelly & Donna and they're married to Dylan and David and driving matching BMW wagons solving cases in between dropping their kids off at West Beverly Elementary School where Mrs. Teasley is the principal. Mrs. T protects the kids from sharks falling out of the sky until Steve Sanders gets there and saves the day. The show starts filming next month and will hopefully air on ABC Family as soon as possible.
-At the end of October, the Trendrr data I report each morning will no longer be available. Trendrr was bought out by Twitter, so I'm in the process of finding a replacement. The good news is that the Nielsen Twitter TV Ratings are officially available. I have the weekly numbers included above. I just need some time to understand what I'm looking at and how to use it for daily reporting. Hopefully before November 1st, I'll have it all ready to go. Times are changing and I'm doing the best I can to change with it. I would like to go on the record though as being the first TV blogger to report social buzz rankings. I've been doing it for almost 2 years, so I would like a little credit for being a trend setter before the trends were trending.
-Since it would probably cause a budget issue by changing the title to Newlyweds: The Second Year, Bravo renewed the show as is: Newlyweds: The First Year but they'll just follow 4 new couples instead of the first four in their 2nd year of wedded bliss. Since I never got into this one, no idea if the first 4 couples were people I'd want to keep watching. Anyone feel strongly one way or another?
Tuesday's Trivia Question: Name the actor who played Dr. Dick Solomon and the show he played him in.
