Still life, art and fashion photographer Henry Hargreaves teamed with chef and stylist Caitlin Levin to create an amazing photography series Food Maps inspired by their passion for travel and exploring new places through food. In this Food Maps series they took iconic foods and their variations that have transformed and become a part of the cultural identity for countries and continents, and turned them into physical maps. Can you really think of Italy without thinking of succulent, sun-baked and sweet tomatoes? Have you never heard of the Aussie saying ‘throw some shrimp on the barbie’? As Henry and Caitlin say: ‘This [Food Maps] project speaks to the universality of how food unites people, brings us together and starts conversation’.
These food maps look amazing and just the thought that they have been painstakingly created using real food blows my mind. I absolutely love the vintage look of the Food Maps created by the typography by Sarit Melmed.
