Following Trends and How It Affects Our Happiness.

By Lifestreasury

FOLLOWING TRENDS AND HOW IT AFFECTS OUR HAPPINESS.
Most people tend to be extremely happy when the weekend arrives, is it because they are going to have a restful time and time off work or is it because everybody is saying thank God it's friday.
I have been going through the program with Steph Obi and I will be sharing lessons from her every tuesday.
How does following the trend affect your happiness?
Most times we tend to want to achieve things because we see others do it and hence it affects us and causes us to feel depressed.
I have a friend that owned a beauty shop which dealt strictly on corporate wears and was doing real fine. One day she felt she was left in  her world and noticed that casual fashion items sold better, the cut jeans to be precise (pardon me if I did not get the name right) and so she decided to make a major switch from the corporate world to the casual world. She was excited about it and never had it at the back of her mind that she has already built a client base based on what she sold but they loved her for her uniqueness.
Months went by and she realized her profit margin started running low, it kept dropping every month and as this happened, she kept complaining, blaming it on all who worked for her.
But little did she know that she personally secured her sadness, I was barely aware of this because of distance but she put me in the know when she noticed things were going out of hand.
We tried tracing where everything went wrong, until we got to realize that the trend was the problem.
A few of us are going through unhappy moments because of similar cases, we keep getting sad by the day because we want to do what every other person is doing.
Your uniqueness always sells you better than following the trend.

In order to secure your happiness you need to find your style and stick to it. Are you a person of budget then stick to your style, do not follow the trend of your friends wanting to shop and run out on your finances.
Do you love to have quiet times, then do it rather than join a few friends hang out and be unhappy.
Find your style, find your uniqueness, in everything you do.
Be it in personal life, relationship or business.
Th trend might not be for you, your uniqueness will always speak for you.
Let me hear from you, have you ever been a victim of having to follow the trend and what happened? let us hear your experience and what further advice can you give to those who follow trends.
