
A quick glance at some of the upcoming films in 2014 is all it takes to get a bit of film fever going. With so many great upcoming films to choose from it’s hard to decide what to see. Having taken a look at all of the forthcoming releases here’s our picks of what the rest of 2014 has to offer.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2

The plot of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie hints that Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) might have met his toughest challenge yet as he faces off against the frightening powers of his arch nemesis, Electro (Jamie Foxx). We’re also introduced to a new villain in the Spider-Man franchise in the shape of Rhino (Paul Giamatti). As Parker delves into his father’s history he unearths some terrifying secrets that could threaten the world as we know it. Expect intense action sequences interspersed with hilarious comedy moments. So basically everything the Amazing Spider-Man Series is famous for.
Released April 16th.
Godzilla

The latest remake of the seminal Godzilla franchise is an epic must-see film this year. Starring Breaking Bad main man Bryan Cranston the film takes a realistic spin on the classic kaiju genre. There’s no doubt that there will be destruction on a monstrous scale, a yet-to-be-confirmed monster for Godzilla to battle with and an emotional plot to boot. Directed by Gareth Edwards, the man behind Monsters, Godzilla is going to be a thrilling ride.
Released May 16th.
The Muppets Most Wanted

As proof that CGI hasn’t replaced everything in film these days The Muppets return this year in what is sure to be a musical comedy spectacular. And this time there’s a new member of the cast in the form of the funny-man Ricky Gervais. While on tour in Europe a Kermit lookalike has stolen a priceless diamond and the whole gang inevitably gets caught up in some hilarious capers. As with everything the Muppeteers get their hands on Most Wanted promises to be a hit for adults and kids alike.
Released March 24th.
Sin City: A Dame to Kill For

Frank Miller’s graphic novel series Sin City is getting another adaptation from Robert Rodriquez this year. Jessica Alba is back on screen alongside Bruce Willis and Mickey Rourke as returning cast members. The plot draws partly from Miller’s graphic novel with the same name, but with a few stories from other series woven in. Expect violent deaths blended with elements of film noir in this imaginary underworld of crime and corruption.
Released 22nd August.
Noah

Russell Crowe stars alongside Anthony Hopkins and Emma Watson in the visionary director Darren Aronofsky’s reimagining of the biblical tale. A story of courage, sacrifice and hope Noah retells the moral tale for a modern audience. Set in times long forgotten you can expect an epic flood and a terrifying battle for survival.
Released 4th April.
So there you have it! Five must see films of 2014 that should be worth the extra cash to go and see on the big screen. We can’t wait!
