Hi y’all. Long time no see.
So… this post is about to be epic long. Hopefully not boring. I’ve gotta fill you in on a bunch of things happening in the lives of Maren, Max (and of course Donner!).
First off…
:::::WEDDING PLANNING:::::
Right now everything wedding, white and girly is completely on hold. We found out a few weeks ago that my mom has stage one ovarian cancer. Luckily, her surgery was perfect and they removed all the cancer from her body. We’re getting ready to start a preventative round of chemo therapy and myself and family just feel that it’s more important to focus on getting mom healthy right now. We’ll pick up wedding planning once we’re there.
If it’s something you feel comfortable with, please pray for my mom.
Okay… secondly.
!!!!!FITNESS AND WEIGHTLOSS!!!!!
In my break from blogging I’ve gained a whole new outlook on healthy living and I’m loving it. Max and I both wear fitbit zips. They’re little pedometers that sync to your iphone and computer. I LOVE mine, mostly because it’s pink.
I have a step goal every day of 10,000 steps. I try to walk at least 4 miles and burn a certain number of calories doing it. With my anthropologie job, I get a TON of steps. Before Max and I decided to make a few little changes to our lives to get healthier, I wasn’t active at all. I wasn’t working out. Since getting the fitbit I walk every day. Sometimes I even walk through entire TV shows. Yes…. I’m walking from one side of our living room to the other, over and over again.
But you know, it’s working for me. My pants are fitting better and my curves are a little less squishy.
~~~~~FOOD~~~~~
So how am I eating these days??? Well, I’d love to tell ya.
Max and I aren’t discriminating. Haha.
We eat meat and we eat vegetarian. We eat healthy nutritious foods (a lot) but we also eat In-N-Out Burger and don’t skip on a caramel frap on a hot day.
If I’m hungry, I EAT! And I eat what I want while making healthy choices along the way.
^^^^^JUICING^^^^^
I’m not going to sugar coat it… Max really wanted a juicer after watching the Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead documentary. I wanted to be the supportive fiance so I pushed him to buy a juicer. And last night we juiced! Boy did we juice.
It looked green and gross. But it tasted pretty darn good.
We made the Documentary’s famous Mean Green Juice.
It has 1 cucumber, 2 green apples, 6-8 kale leaves, 1/2 of a lemon, 1″ ginger root, and 1 stalk of celery.
Holy GREEN!!!
For now we want to juice once a day. Maybe replace one meal with fresh juice. And we might try a juice fast in the future.
Juicing is really fun and kinda exciting. We bought the Breville Juice Fountain Plus and after our first juice, we really like the one we bought.
Juicing is taking over my kitchen!
*****BREAKFAST*****
Blueberry muffin and 2 mugs of coffee with truvia.
