{Finishing Is Best}

{Finishing Is Best}
" Finished last" will always be better than "did not finish," which always trumps, "did not start."

Motivation is what keeps you going. Sometimes the fear of not finishing or finishing last is what holds people up from starting. If you finish last, what is there to be said about those that did not try at all? A lot is to be said about someone who tries something they are unsure about verses someone who backs away because they have not tried it before.My dad is a HUGE example of trying something new and not knowing what the end result will be. When the time came around to submit your name for a lottery slot in the world championship Ironman in Kona, Hawaii, daddy did just that. He did it on a whim, not expecting anything to come of it. It came to be that he was one of 200 selected from the lottery to compete on October 12th, 2013 in Kona for the World Championship Ironman. Over 2,000 people would compete. For a few short months, daddy trained day in and day out. He completed the half Ironman in Raleigh, North Carolina and tackled it! Not knowing what the end result would be, daddy and my mother set their compass for Kona and landed a few days before the race day. On October 12th, 2013, my dad, Jim Charapich, completed the Kona Ironman in 14 Hours and 33 minutes. He was strong in every area and did not quit. Dad endured and provides an inspiration to myself, my family, and close friends. Do not doubt your abilities. You only fail if you don't try. xoBCC
