*Finding the Right Carseat!

By Ourbabyblog @OurBabyBlogx
When Abbie was born we were all prepared and ready with our carseat, we knew exactly how to fit in into the car, where the seatbelt goes and how to secure it properly etc, our problem was actually putting Abbie in it haha, we brought it in from the car and actually asked the midwife to help up as we didn't want to hurt her or put her in wrong, oh to be a first time parent!....it was rather simple really but we hadn't done it before so we can be forgiven :), we were shown how tight the straps have to be and how to ensure they are secure too which was really helpful!

So after using our trustee second hand car seats for Abbie since the day she was born, we decided it was time for a new one now she's getting bigger, I didn't even realize there were so many out there to choose from and so many designs too, I was a little overwhelmed actually with so many claiming to be the safest and the best, make sure you have a thorough read through the descriptions to find the right one for your little one, a lot of places even fit them for you if like us, you were a little unsure on how to do it!

We decided to go for the Fisher Price Deluxe Grow With Me carseat as it seemed to have everything we were looking for, from safety to comfort and convenience to simplicity, it stood out to us straight away with the polka dot design and impressive array of features! It is suitable from 9 months right up to 11 years old, 11! Just imagine how much money that will save you, no need to buy a new one every few years, as soon as they hit the right age or weight, it ill be the only car seat they need! It has a comfy padded seat and adjustable head support to ensure a completely smooth and comfortable journey!

One of my favorite things about this is that you know if the straps aren't secure or if your little one has undone it somehow, it starts beeping at you and doesn't stop until it's corrected! As well as our fisher price one, other car seats can be found at Argos, there are some great deals out there at the moment so definitely don't miss out on grabbing yourself a bargain!

If you're still a be kerfuffle after looking online, why not pop out and have a look at some in person, sometimes getting to feel and examine the seat will give you a better idea on what you're looking for, plus you can always ask the staff to give you demonstrations and to help you choose! A good trick we learnt with our newborn carseat was to get it all set up  in the car a few months before little one was due and practice unstrapping and securing it so it would become second nature by the time they arrive, it really gave us a confidence boost when the big day finally came! There is a fab guide you can read here if you are unsure of anything :)
