Final Recap: Baltimore Summer Antiques Show

By Raymondleejewelers @raymondleejwlrs

Alright, I’m just about ready to wrap up with the Baltimore Summer Antiques Show, considering it happened a month ago. I still have a few more hilarious Dozen questions with Designers & Diamonds to share, but I wanted to show off the gorgeous pieces from a few vendors I wasn’t able to chat with. This show is truly gorgeous, it’s right on the bay(?) of Baltimore, and in summer time it was perfect. The convention center itself looks a lot like Batman’s lair from the outside, but Palm Beach Show Group, as always, transforms the inside of the convention center into a stunningly curated gallery. Pristine white carpet (for the first day) pops against the blue backdrops of each jewelry booth and antique booth, and as I mentioned before, the lighting is always spot on. So important when diamond ogling, you just need diamond light people, trust me on this one. So the show is gorgeous, the vendors are friendly, and if you’re looking for an “out of season” show to add to your antique collecting calendar, it’s worth the trip to Baltimore.

First up is the in.cred.ible Maharaja Jewelry case. Each piece is a sight to behold, I could have stood there and stared for hours…at the coral necklace alone! But every single one of their pieces is that intricate.

Another color fix – have you ever seen so many vintage Hermes scarves at once?

Of course, they function as wearable art – but when it comes to wall art, I was pretty smitten with Birmingham Estate Jewelry & Buyers’ vintage posters and Rolex wall clocks.

And Steve Fishman’s Seaman Shepps pieces – along with vintage VCA and vintage David Webb – never disappoint.

I had the loveliest conversation with Daniel of Past Era Antiques – it was his birthday! And he too is a big fan of Jewels du Jour.

I was also smitten – as always – with my fair share of Louis Vuitton trunks. I’ve promised myself if I EVER see one with my initials I’m purchasing it on the spot.

No initials needed on this antique dragon pendant, gold and rubies on strings of chunky pearls, at Antiques to Go.

Pictured here: The vintage Aldo Cipullo Just un Clou necklace I freaked out about. Like seeing a unicorn in person, people. Only at Chas Schwartz & Sons….if it’s even still there.

I also spent a fair amount of time ogling the J S Fearnley case – SO many gorgeous goodies, and a really impeccably curated booth. I loved the mix of eras and designers they had.

I never wanted to take this bangle off – the perfect, lightest beaded rose gold bangle by Sherry Bender of the Goldsmith (here in Chicago! Actually at 900 Michigan, and I haven’t been to Bloomies in a few weeks…and it’s cold now…so new wardrobe time. With a new accessory?)

This pendant was as big as my fist, I kid you not. The suite is so pretty, and available at Guaranteed Real.

And, no show recap is complete without the brightest Birkin I could find, so here you are:

But let’s not forget about the other fantastic interviewees to who answered a dozen questions! Let’s check them out, shall we?

I stopped by Jack Weir & Sons for some good conversation and great jewelry with Wyler Weir.

And I also got to meet Raphael from Benchmark of Palm Beach, and his little dog too (wearing real diamonds and stealing my heart.)

And his buddy, Jeremy, also with Benchmark!

I also got to meet Alon, CEO of Vivid Diamonds, and swooned over their amazing, high quality large diamonds.

It was a fabulous show, and I’m so happy I got to attend – I’m hoping to see all the new friends I made (so cheese ball, but for real) at the fall shows!
