Filling Days with Mindlessness

By Shawnaschuh
Bust of Abraham Lincoln

Sometimes I allow all the things, emails, mail, calls and concerns of others impact my life. The day goes by without as much creativity and productivity as I’d like and I feel that I’ve been busy and yet didn’t do my best.

Mostly I think it’s because I didn’t do what I do best, I did other things that filled my day.

Today is a new day, a day that I can plan, use and create in – if I shift my thinking.

This quote from Abraham Lincoln helps me and gives me hope.

“I do the very best I know how – the very best I can; and mean to keep doing so until the end. If the end brings me out all right, what is said against me won’t amount to anything. If the end brings me out wrong, ten angels swearing I was right would make no difference.”

Knowing how history played out – this shows us that Lincoln was concerned with his decisions – that he was thoughtful about what he was doing and that his intent was to do his best and keep on doing it – what a wonderful standard –

Are we always doing our best? I know I do not, I know I get caught up in mindless things.

So this day, where will you schedule the time to do what you do best?

Remember, you create your day by the way you think. Make it magnificent!

Blessings, Shawna
