Happy Friday Lovelies. Hope you've had a great week so far and are looking forward to the weekend as I am. This post (which was my aim to keep short) is a simple thank you note. This week a voting competition for Star Central Magazine that I was nominated for ended and I'm so proud to say that I ended with over 9.5K (yes, thousand) votes. I cannot show my gratitude enough for my family, friends, followers and even strangers that consistently took the time out of their days during the last 2 weeks to vote for me. This is honestly the first time I've been active in a competition and I was so surprised by the response.
I guess my shock comes more from the fact that I've never really been one to ask for help but I'm on this life path of 'facing my fears and learning what's the worse that can happen', so I decided to reach out for support and to say I was overwhelmed is an understatement. Thank you to all you incredible people, your participation means more to me than the votes, to me it was more about the genuine support and care that I felt.
I want to also congratulate the other 2 fashionistas in the competition, Faith and Marina who I actually connected with as a result, which I believe is what these events should be about, connecting with and supporting one another. I'm so glad that the sincere and fair actions of Faith, Marina and myself showed that our achievements, aspirations and goals went way beyond that of the competition.
I'm grateful for the true unwavering support network that I have and the actual human beings who voted for me because they genuinely felt I deserved it and that in itself to me is a win. I've learnt that situations like these only remind me that I'm always running my own race and that the only person I'm in competition with, is the person I was yesterday.
