In the past I’ve attended quite a few shows. I think some designers get confused with the words Ready to Wear. In my opinion, the outfit should be tasteful, elegant and classy. I hate going to a show where the designer’s focus or theme is based on “The Addams Family”. It brings such horror and disgrace to the fashion industry. Two words for that …no and blah! As a designer, I fell in love with the Runway show for the Top Designers of Fashion Week New Orleans 2013. The design competition was lined up with some awesome designers. This is why the judges couldn’t agree on just three finalists in Thursday’s (March 21) “Top Designer” runway competition, so a fourth designer was added. Enterprising clothing designers Ashley Gunkel, Brooke Lynn Wright, Kallen Forster and Katherine Faust all brought their collections back for the finale Saturday night. One of my favorites were Kallen Forster. Her play with texture, print, and solids coordinated into a very chic yet eccentric look. The make-up of the models was tribal and exotic. This should be a very good showdown! Come back soon to see who won!
