Family Living Like It’s 1986, Just Like The Keatons!

By Nottheworstnews @NotTheWorstNews

The Toronto Sun reports that a family from Guelph, Ontario, Canada has decided to live like it’s 1986 until April 2014. Specifically, they have given up Facebook, Apple products, and non-mullet haircuts.

3 Questions That Arise From This Story

1. Isn’t it ironic that the family was interviewed by a newspaper, the Toronto Sun, just like it was 1986? If only newspapers could convince everyone to live like it’s 1986, then maybe more people would turn to their daily papers to check out sports scores and wonder whether the Oakland Athletics won the west coast game last night!

2. When is this family really going to get into character and pretend it’s 1986? Admitting you gave up “Facebook” is acknowledging it’s at least 2004. When reporters mention “Facebook” you should immediately break out the photo album with the pictures full of people with their eyes closed because digital cameras do not exist.

3. Wouldn’t 1984 be a more appropriate year? Then you could live in a year where everyone would laugh about how nothing came true in Orwell’s Nineteen-Eighty Four, and never will!
