Fall Family Room Tour

By Adrienne Boswell @chiccalifornia1

Hi there friends! Welcome back if you stopped by last week to see my Fall Tablescape. If you're new here, Welcome! Feel free to check out my fall table, it's filled with dahlias, succulents and the cutest little mini eggplants you ever did see! And then you can make your way back here for my Fall Family Room Tour!

My tour really starts with the coffee table. If you saw my post with my fall color inspiration, you'll know I chose a really non traditional color palate. I envisioned soft pinks and greens with just a hint of coral orange for fall.

I put together this fall arrangement with some pink roses and greenery from the grocery store, a few dahlias from the farmers market, and some succulents from my porch. I did a little tutorial the other day on my Instagram stories. I love how it came together.

It brings together all the colors that I wanted in my home this fall.

I traded out my summer pillows with gray velvet pillows. I think changing out your pillow covers from one season to another is the best way to change up your decor. The summer covers were a lighter fabric and lighter gray color. Bringing in new fabrics, especially velvet really adds the fall warm and cozy factor.

I found this pink pillow at a recent french antique barn sale and I fell in love with the colors. It has a more boho vibe and is a thick tapestry fabric. The perfect fabric for fall decor.

I generally love to decorate with seashells. Ordinarily, I would replace those shells with pumpkins when fall comes around. But of course I couldn't find any pumpkins last week!!! This week....pumpkins everywhere!!! No matter, when I saw these quartz rocks at Homegoods I knew I had the perfect replacement for summer shells. They add a little sparkle and weight to my decor.

Moving around to the seating area by the window. I traded out my old farmhouse style table for a smaller round table. There's only one problem with incorporating old farmhouse pieces into your decor. Sometimes they are too old to be sturdy anymore! I discovered that my old table had a broken leg that couldn't be fixed which made me so sad. But the good thing about old farmhouse style pieces is that they are generally inexpensive, so I wasn't heartbroken.

The Pyne Hollyhock pillows are a recent purchase from Etsy. I'm all about changing out your decor with inexpensive pieces. But I fell in love with this designer fabric. After searching for less spendy options, I finally settled on the real thing. These were a bit more of a splurge for me. But they won't be going anywhere when fall ends!

I had some leftover flowers from my coffee table arrangement so I added them to my favorite vintage finds. An old tobacco can, a gold book and the blue demijohn are perfect accents for fall.

Don't even get me started on this new fall candle I added in. It's from Anthro and I used a coupon from my birthday to buy it. It. Smells. Amazing. You don't even need to light the candle and it fragrances the whole room. It's the perfect mix of pumpkin and vanilla! And the copper mercury glass is so pretty!

I decided to keep my mantel pretty simple since I already have all the color in other parts of the room. I made a faux floral arrangement using just greenery here. I used an assortment of eucalyptus, dried silver dollar eucalyptus and lambs ear.

Finally Pumpkins! I did have a few faux pumpkins laying around but they were painted with metallics and turquoise. A quick repaint in shades of white and gray and they are perfect for my fireplace.

I also added my chippy farmhouse stool in front of the fireplace. You can see how I painted an ikea step stool to look just like it here.

I picked up this cute white step stool for my little guy to use in the bathroom so he could wash his hands. But somehow it ended up over by the fireplace instead!

This spot is always a little tricky to decorate. Kind of hard to hide the big ol' tv. So I added more faux greenery and pumpkins to the top of my entertainment center in a low arrangement so that it wouldn't block the view.

Moving around to the other side of the room are my barn doors.

While I love the look of my fresh florals, it such a bummer that you can't make them last forever. I opted for a faux floral arrangement here. I picked up a variety of faux floral stems of greens, succulents and dahlias at Hobby Lobby recently and made an arrangement in my vintage champagne bucket. Now I have an arrangement that will last all season.

I hope you enjoyed my fall family room tour. I have a few more spots in the house left to decorate for fall and I'm looking forward to sharing those soon. Until then, please feel free to pin any of my pics or the pic down below to your own pinterest boards.
