The Election Commisson of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday disqualified former Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) leader Faisal Saleh Hayat and Abid Imam, the son of his political rival Syeda Abida Hussain from contesting elections here in NA-87.
The nomination papers of Hayat, who was contesting as an independent candidate, and Imam, who had filed his nomination papers as the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) candidate, were rejected by returning officer on the charges of stealing irrigation water.
Former minister Hayat had been winning the seats from his constituency without fail while Imam was contesting for the first time.
