Facebook Ftw! ( History Decoded! )

By Shivam Ralli @shivamralli167
Facebook, now the most popular social networking site, was an instant hit when it was released as [thefacebook] back in February 4, 2004. This site faced disputes and controversies from the week it was launched. Only in 6 days, three Harvard seniors – Cameron Winklevoss, Tyler Winklevoss and Divya Narendra accused Mark Zuckerberg of intentionally misleading them into believing he would help them build a social network called HarvardConnection.com (now ConnectU). This bloomed into a full-fledged lawsuit and sued Mark and Facebook for theft and fraud, starting a legal odyssey that settled in 2008.The lawyers for the Winklevosses suggested that the hard drive from Mark Zuckerberg’s computer at Harvard might contain evidence of Mark’s fraud. Fortunately, the judge in the case refused to do so and instead deferred to another judge who went on to approve the settlement.

Facebook ftw! ( History decoded! )

Know The History!

Unfortunately, since the contents of Mark’s hard drive had not been made public, no one had the answers. But, I have some.Mark had received 16 emails from the clients(Winklevosses). In the first fifteen he didn’t raise any concerns and in the 16th email he raised concerns about site’s (ConnectU) functionality. This all took place within 6 weeks, in which the clients had no idea that this guy was not building their site, and soon after which Mark launched [thefacebook]. Mark had looked through their code, had met them three times and to their surprise their appeared a “Mark Zuckerburg production” on every damn page (Yes I mean it).Well, Eduardo Saverin (C.F.O of [thefacebook]) also had filed a 600 million lawsuit on Mark. Why? Because his shares had been diluted from 30% to 0.3%. Zuckerberg is a genius, wise, clever and not to mention the youngest billionaire. He believes in innovative ideas and yes hard work too. He used to get wired in (non- stop coding without breaks) for more than 18 hours and sometimes even 35 hours. This is the recipe of Facebook - Innovation + ‘Wired in sessions’ of its employees.I just think people have a lot of fiction. But, you know, I mean, the real story of Facebook is just that we've worked so hard for all this time. I mean, the real story is actually probably pretty boring, right? I mean, we just sat at our computers for six years and coded.”// Mark had “I am the CEO, bitch.”-  printed in his business card for the first three years//The pirates of Silicon Valley don’t just make a company, they start a revolution.    "My goal was never to just create a company. A lot of people misinterpret that, as if I don't care about revenue or profit or any of those things. But what not being 'just' a company means to me is building something that actually makes a really big change in the world."Some people call Mark a traitor but maybe they don’t know that -  ‘You don’t get to 500 million friends without making a few enemies’
