I've been reading a whole bunch of self help books, notably Joanna Penn's excellent title; How to Market a Book, all with the hopeful end result of marketing my own Sleepy Hamlet; which is still being edited, but almost finished.
One of the important factors I've discovered from the pages of this book and through other authors on Google+ is that I need to build a mailing list of interested readers. I's also been recommended that I use the mailchimp emailing site to store all those lovely email addresses from you wonderful people who wish to be the first to find out about publishing dates of all my projects, whether they be Sleepy Hamlet, children's books or any other specialist project I have ready to be released.
I already have an emailing facility that was built into the blogger software which enables you to have my stories, tutorials, comics and other assorted nonsense sent direct to your mail box, but this new one is different. This puts you on a list of those who want advance news of the release dates for my POD (print on demand) projects.
I would also like to assure you that I wont be using these lists to bombard you with every little thing I'm up to; we have the blog for that (insert smiley face), and I most definitely WONT sell your details onto anyone else! Your mine, and no one's having you but me!!! (does that sound a bit creepy and bunny boilerish?) So it will only be used for the times I have a new children's book, a collection of short stories, a novel or comic for release.
If you'd like to be in on this list please click on the email list tab on the side bar and fill in your email address and accept my thanks in advance for your time, help and continued support of my work.
On another note, and some good news for those who come here to read the odd-ball tomfoolery I write, I'm actually penning you another of my story ideas. This one is a spoof of the TV show 24 and how I think it would be if it happened in the real world. I'm hoping to publish it next week and it may run over a few days, but as of yet I'm not 100% sure on that point; at this stage it all depends on how long the tale is. But stay tuned and I will inform you as and when its ready to go live!
And of course there'll be a brand new Brabbles & Boggitt posted tomorrow (I promise it will be posted...honest), so come back then; hell come back all the time. Even if there's nothing new on that day there's plenty to see and do through the tabs above! So browse, god damn it, I write all this stuff so you don't have to!
If you like my blog and the things that I say and do, please tell your friends; mention me on Facebook, Twitter and any of the other fine social media networking sites you use. I would love to have my work reach a much larger audience and although I could no doubt eventually get there under my own steam, I'll get there a lot quicker with your help, so please, please spread the word.Thank you
