There are many different ways that you can transform a small bathroom into a roomy space.

7 Ways to Make a Small Bathroom Look Bigger
1. Wall Mounted Faucet

Standard faucets are mounted to the vanity countertop but wall-mounted faucets are a contemporary decorating accent that can make a small bathroom look bigger. They can even be used in more traditional arrangements to add a modernized touch.
2. Pick the Right Cabinets
Certain types of cabinets can make your bathroom seem bigger than they actually are. Open space vanities, rounded vanities, and pedestal sinks work well in tight spaces. As mentioned in my Part I of this series, floating vanities and corner sink vanities also help maximize space in narrow rooms.

3. Use a Large Pattern
Large patterns (like large tiles) can have an expanding effect in the bathroom. Smaller tiles create too many distractions and cause the eyes to focus on these areas rather than the architectural construction of the room. In order to make your small bathroom appear to be larger, you don’t want it to be busy. Think calm, simple, and clean.

Lighting plays a key role in depth perception. Well-lit rooms can feel much roomier than poorly lit areas that seem dark, dreary, and uninviting. There are many ways that you can add lighting in the bathroom. Task lighting (used over the vanity area) and decorative lighting fixtures should be used in tandem. This can be done through direct and indirect lighting fixtures. Natural light should always receive priority as it is irreplaceable and inimitable.
5. Curbless Showers
Curbless showers eliminate the wall that is created by raised showers. By doing so, you create a smooth transition between the shower and the rest of the room. 6. Extend Counter Over Toilet
This doesn’t necessarily make the room look bigger per say, but it can help cut down on clutter that is often the cause of a cramped space. Extended counters give you more counter space and it adds a sleek line of transition that helps create a blended room.
7. Mix Tile Size
Use large 24″x24″ tiles on the floors with minimal grout lines to create a seamless look. A consistent pattern makes floor space seem expansive in contrary to small tiles that are very busy and attention grabbing.
