Awkward-MTV 39,000 Tweets THE SHOWS Survivor I was really really hoping that the food auction would result in SOMETHING other than a win for Tony, but of course that wasn't meant to be. Not only did Tony beat out Spencer to get the advantage, he found his 3rd immunity idol. Granted he used one last night but he still has the other one which is the superpower one and he seems unbeatable at this point. Of course the scenes for next week make it like they're going to all get it together and get rid of him, but they don't realize that he has the superpower idol. It sucks hating a great player and Tony is a great player. The scale is just tipped too much in his favor and it's enough already.
Suburgatory
Why is it that whenever kids on TV shows go to college, they all go to the same one? Only one person that I can remember actually went away to school ( a real one that if you can name I'll give you 5 points) all alone…Hattie Braverman. She didn't go with all her high school friends, she went alone. Tessa and Dhalia both interviewed at a fictional school called Havenbrook. Of course Dhalia didn't get in, took on an old guy in a wheelchair then became a grease monkey and then found her true calling…B…E…L…T…S. Somehow in the last 5 minutes of the show last night, Dallas came to this conclusion, got a bunch of belts designed and made and was selling them in a store in Chatswin. Very productive Dallas…but a bit ridiculous too. I know, I know, it's a sitcom. If the kids from Glee can graduate in March, Dhalia can produce 1000 belts in 5 minutes.
Modern Family
Classic quote when Clair asked Phil if he could stay home and wait for the washing machine repairman: "Can I sit around an empty house and wait for someone? Baby I'm a realtor…I have a license for that." Good one Phil Dunphy, in fact last nights entire episode was a Phil Dunphy classic. Phil got word that the 45 of Carly Simon's "Nobody Does it Better" had come into the record store and had to have it as it was the song he lost his virginity to which lasted 3 minutes and 42 seconds. The sex and the song. Too funny. Writers were back firing on all cylinders. Clair was pissed that Cam never put Lily in any of her girls hand-me-downs, Jay was hiding the fact that he and his dog were in a dog show and Mitch was feeling invisible in his own family. It was actually a pretty funny episode last night. Finally a good one! I think last years family photo had everyone in white. This year, black was the family picture color palette. I liked the white better.
Nashville
Well last nights episode was a big fat bummer. First we had Rayna and her sister with their Daddy issues. Then we had Juliette with her drug addict Mom, Gunnar with his criminal brother, Maddie with her new found Dad, and now add Scarlett and her Mom to the crazy list. Don't forget about Deacon who's got a bunch of different issues and of course there's Will who's hiding his sexuality but feels compelled to star with his wife in a new reality show. I hope ABC puts that thing online or something. I want to be there when Lila walks in on him and some hot country dude in her bed. Damn these people are a mess. Maybe Dr. Ann Wexler should set up another couch in Nashville.
THE OTHER STUFF
-The sequel to last Summer's Sharknado doesn't even premiere until 7/30. I'm guessing that it's really really good because Syfy's already given the go ahead for a 3rd one. I'm assuming they'll rerun the first one as we get closer to the premiere of #2. If you didn't see it last Summer, you gotta get on the bandwagon in July!
-Not 1, not 2, not 3 but 4 more seasons of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee are coming our way. Thanks CRACKLE!!!. Of course the Crackle "seasons" are only 5 eps each but I don't care I'll take it. Jerry's got Aziz Ansari, Jon Stewart, Sarah Jessica Parker, Robert Klein and George Wallas coming next season. I'm psyched sounds like a good lineup.
-I'm pretty sure that I watched Ben Affleck and Matt Damon's first Project Greenlight 11 years ago. They're bringing it back and honestly I think the timing is probably much better now than it was then. With all the distribution options, the project will probably have a better chance. Trying to remember what the final film was and who starred in it. Was it Shia Lebouf?
-Hulu Plus hit the 6 million mark this week apparently. Good…yes, but not even close to Netflix territory. Remember, Netflix has 34 million US subs at this point.
