Last night my friend Julia called me all excited. TheEtna has been erupting from 48 hours and it has erupted precisely four times from the crater south / east. In addition to a thousand other technical information, she sent me a little video of the wonderful eruption. Giulia is the classic person who has studied what she liked, doing a job that she loves and has married one exactly like her. Despite her house is in Rome, I think she spends more time near the Etna that at home. In any case, it is fascinating to think how this volcano wakes up every time and spits out somedeep, hot and absolutely fascinating magma for those who are ignorant like me.

Here you are, ladies and gentlemen another giant sometimes silent and sometimes not: the EtnaWe are in the wonderful Sicilian island, where the sea, the sun, the food and the people are so nice that you can spend some unforgettable moments. Just to let you understand the magnitude of this volcano you must know that Etna has the ancient origins. It has a diameter of over 40 kilometers and more than 3,000 meters hight. In short, its grandeur is undeniable! It was known by the Arabs, the Greeks, the Romans. As in many situations what scares the man becomes the inspiration for the tales. The Etna was mentioned several times in the ancient myths. An example?Aeschylus said that Typhon was imprisoned in the volcano this is why the vocano erupted .
For the fans of the genre in this area there are numerous caves. If you love walking there are different paths that safely will make you the thrill experience of walking on this giant. There is a solution for the lazy, the cable car brings to the places of the interest without having to walk a lot.
Why go on the Etna? Because the view is spectacular from up and you can seefrom Taormina to the Aeolian Islands. The lunar landscape that surrounds the visitor seems to be unreal. It is definitely in contrast to the blue sea that beautifully captures the eyes from this height.
The Etna is not only nature but also culture and you can feel the taste of the traditions in the villages surrounding this beautiful mountain.Personally I love to enjoy the calm that requires a visit to explore this beautiful area. As always, you don’t have been in a hurry; the good things are in the small moments when you slows down. Sit in a tavern and taste the wine has been cultivated with masterful wisdom for centuries on this ground. Then look at the volcanic mountain with respect because the elderlies always ask to the Etna for their auspices. The true master is the great Sicilian volcano.
Ieri sera la mia amica Giulia mi ha chiamata tutta eccitata. L’Etna erano 48 0re che stava eruttando ed aveva fatto precisamente 4 eruzionidalcratere sud/est. Oltre ad altre mille nozioni tecniche mi aveva mandato un piccolo video della meravigliosa eruzione. Giulia è la classica persona che ha studiato ciò che le piaceva, fa un lavoro che le piace e ha sposato uno esattamente come lei. Nonostante la sua base sia a Roma penso che trascorra più tempo vicino all’Etna che a casa sua. In ogni caso è affascinate pensare come questo vulcano ogni tanto si risvegli e sputi fuori un po’ di magma intenso, caldissimo assolutamente affascinate anche per chi è ignorante come me.Eccoa voi signori e signori un altro gigante a volte silente a volte no: l’Etna. Siamo nella meravigliosa isola siciliana, dove mare sole , cibo e persone sono piacevoli per trascorrere momenti indimenticabili e poi lui, magnifico nel suo ergersi verso il cielo: maestoso da sempre. Sarete stupiti di sapere che sull’Etna si scia e ci sono impianti di risalita. Insomma in questa isola sulla punta dell’Italia si può fare di tutto!Giusto per farvi capire la grandezza di questo vulcano bisogna sapere che l’Etna ha origini antichissime: ha un diametro di oltre 40 kilometri e supera i 3.000 metri. Insomma la sua imponenza è innegabile! Era conosciuta da Arabi, greci, Romani. Come in molte situazioni ciò che spaventa l’uomo diventa ispirazione per i racconti ed infatti l’Etna fu citato più volte nei miti antichi. Un esempio? Eschilo affermava che Tifone fosse imprigionato nel vulcano eper questo motivo eruttasse .Per gli amanti del genere in quest’area ci sono numerosissime grotte. Se invece amate camminare ci sono differenti percorsi che in tutta sicurezza vi faranno provare il brivido di camminare su questo gigante. La soluzione per i più pigri c’è, con la funivia ci si riesce ad avvicinare a luoghi di interesse senza dover faticare molto. Perché andare sull’Etna? Perché la vista da lassù è spettacolare e l’occhio spazia da Taormina alle isole Eolie. Il paesaggio lunare che circonda il visitatore e che sembra essere irreale, è in netto contrasto con il mare splendidamente blu che l’occhio coglie da questa altezza. L’Etna non è solo natura ma che cultura e si sente il sapore della tradizione nei paesi che circondano questa splendida montagna e che personalmente amo poter assaporare con la calma di cui necessita una visita alla scoperta di questa meravigliosa area. Come sempre non abbiate fretta: le cose belle sono anche in piccoli momenti dove il ritmo rallenta. Sedetevi ad un’osteria ed assaggiate il vino che con sapienza magistrale da secoli viene coltivato su questo terreno vulcanico e guardate allamontagna con rispetto perché da sempre gli anziani di qui si affidano all’Etna peri loro auspici. Il vero padrone è lui il magnifico vulcano siciliano.
