Episode 183, Liberty Ridge Update Part 2

Episode 183, Liberty Ridge Update Part 2Continuing the last show's review of status and lessons learned here at Liberty Ridge, three years in:
  • Chickens--coops, runs, fencing, gates, egg production, regular chores, raising chicks, approaches for providing fresh water (including in freezing temperatures), managing the poop, bedding material, automatic coop doors, predators, lost chickens, and (finally) chickens will eat anything, so be careful what you feed them.
  • Weeds--a surprising problem on the homestead, how we handled them (and will handle them in the future).
  • Tractors--size/power, attachments, problems, safety (tractors can be dangerous)
  • Propane--homestead fuel of choice
Throw in a couple updates from Ol' Remus and Kurt Schlicter, and it all makes for a pretty nice show.  Give it a listen!
