Columbia White Rock Education Corporation (WREC) primarily offers a broad variety of “one-stop” services for children, families, and local residents in the areas of learning, employment, entrepreneurship, and adult learning.
To expand our educational offerings for kids and families, we are now searching for an experienced English instructor to join our team.
About this position
Job type: Full-time, Permanent
$40.00 to $45.00 per hour, depending on experience
Hours per week: 30 to 40
Main Duties
- Create tailored (one-on-one) or group lesson plans that address each student’s requirements, then deliver the lecture.
- Potential pupils should be consulted and evaluated; their parents should be informed of their strengths and weaknesses.
- assigning and grading homework
- Review student progress and performance, and create reports for internal and external use.
- Create practice tests to help kids prepare for the examinations they will soon take Attend scheduled meetings or visits with parents to go over the children’ performance and development as necessary
Job Requirements
- a bachelor’s degree in linguistics or English (or equivalent experience as an English teacher)
- TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) preferable certification
- at least three to four years of experience teaching English
- being able to teach or deliver to classes of 10 to 15 students in a medium-sized setting
- Be committed to teaching and excited about it.
