#ElectroluxLive Cook-Off Recap

As a member of Influenster, I participated in the following #ElectroluxLive event. All thoughts & opinions are my own.

On November 6th., Electrolux hosted a live cooktop challenge on Food52 via USTREAM.

Three chefs, Camille Becerra, Phoebe Lepine & Jennifer Perillo, competed against each other on three different cooktop styles to see who could create the best Pan Roasted Cauliflower dish.

Camille Becerra was cooking on the electric cooktop.

Jennifer Perillo was cooking on the induction cooktop.

Phoebe Lapine was cooking on the gas cooktop.

This was the first time I had participated in a live-streaming event & it was super fun! I learned new facts about induction cooking & three recipes to recreate gorgeous Pan Roasted Cauliflower. During the live event, viewers were asked questions about induction cooking & were asked to vote on which chef’s Pan Roasted Cauliflower looked the most delicious. The only thing missing from the fast & furious 30 minute competition was smell-o-vision!

So what did I learn about induction cooktops?

•Keep Warm: Indefinitely hold food at the perfect serving temperature.

•Exceptional Temperature Control: Adjust heat with greater accuracy than gas or electric cooktops, especially at lower settings – perfect for melting chocolate & cooking delicate foods & sauces.

Cooking with an Induction Cooktop is also 70% more energy efficient than gas & 20% more efficient than electric!

The most appealing feature to me as a mother is the fact that the cooktop stays cool to the touch because the induction turns the pan into the heat source.

You also do not need to purchase fancy cookware for an induction cooktop. If a magnet will stick, your cookware is good to go! If not, you simply have to purchase a diffuser & your favorite cookware is induction ready!

Not only did Electrolux & Food52 provide a super fun experience, they gave an induction cooktop away to one extremely lucky winner!
