Most notably, Eleanor Friedberger is one half of the indie rock due The Fiery Furnaces, the other half being her older brother, Matthew. It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything from the Furnaces, but Eleanor’s 2011 solo debut, Last Summer, was a pleasant surprise. Next up will be Personal Record, due out in June, which features the single “Stare at the Sun.” The bold, brassy break-up song– complete with jangly guitars and thoroughly sassy lyrics– is a welcome mid-week treat.
