El Nino and Blushing Lady Tulips – Some Single Late Tulips

By Pattyhankins @PattyHankins

I recently spent a morning photographing some amazing beds of tulips. Of the tulips I photographed that morning – two types – El Nino and Blushing Lady – both Single Late Tulips – were among my favorites. I hope you enjoy seeing them as much as I did.

Blushing Lady Tulips bloom in late April/early May in the DC area. Known for their soft pink and yellow flowers, they grow to almost two feet tall.

El Nino Tulips are another eye-catching late blooming tulips. While the Blushing Lady Tulips caught my eye due to their soft colors – the El Nino Tulips caught my eye for the opposite reason – amazing shades of red, yellow, orange and pink. These tulips have to be seen to be believed!

I photographed several other varieties of single late tulips on this same morning – I’ll try to get them posted in the next week or so.
